It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Michael Tantillo on September 4, 2024. He was 90 years old. Michael’s parents migrated from Palermo, Italy when he was 3 years old. He was raised in Manhattan. Met the love of his life Florence and had three beautiful children. Raising a family was the joy of his life. We treasured every moment with him whether he was teaching us to fish or breaking off a piece of bread and dunking it in Nans’ Sunday Sauce. Nobody played cards like him. He was a self-proclaimed “Superior Card Player.” He would chase a flush like clockwork, and more often than not, receive the suit he needed. His later years were blessed with grandchildren. They were an endless inspiration for his ripe sense of humor. He smiled at them like he smiled at us, with that devilish smirk. We will miss him terribly but are comforted knowing he’s back where he belongs, next to our mom, his beloved Florence. We love you forever. Rest in Peace Pop.
