It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our amazing mother, Diane Walker, on December 3, 2023. She was 82. Diane was a Brooklyn woman through and through, more comfortable traversing the concrete jungle she grew up in over the manicured lawns of Long Island. It was in Brooklyn she raised her girls: Kathleen, Donna, and Jennifer. She was our “Activity Director” – always improvising on a moment’s notice to Plumb Beach, Sonny Collaros, Nellie Bly, Manhattan, or whatever spontaneous adventure she could conjure to entertain us. Somehow, that unpredictable spirit grew when her grandchildren were born. They were her treasure. We loved to watch her Line Dance through the house, and negotiate the price of toy’s for the grandkids from five dollars to fifty cents. The house came alive when she played Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. When she wasn’t in motion, she was sitting on the sofa with her beloved yorkie, Elvis. Though it breaks our hearts to see her go, we take comfort that her unstoppable resolve is rounding up restless spirits on the dance floor for a night of Line Dancing, and forming a pub choir to her favorite song, “Sweet Caroline.” Good times never seemed so good. Diane is survived by her loving girls Kathleen Walker, Donna Beza (Steve), and Jennifer Lauro (Joe). Cherished grandchildren Korinne, Danielle, Jacqueline, Matthew, DiAnna, and Giovanni. Adored by her brother Ferdinand Zoccoli (Ginny), and the late Rachel Ventresa (Julio).
