On June 7th 2023, the Merrick community lost a beloved wife, mother, teacher, and friend. Patricia Mary Curran- known to many as Trish- passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 54. Only a couple of months prior, Trish was diagnosed with Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, yet her imperishable spirit and love for life never faltered.

Trish was born in Huntington, NY to Gerard and Catherine Halloran, but was raised in County Carlow, Ireland. When Trish emigrated back to the United States at 20 years old, she fell in love, started a family, and raised three beautiful children who she would have done anything for. Trish is survived by her loving husband Seán of 31 years and her three children Jack, Ryan, and Ailish and their significant others, Lexi and Helen. She will be dearly missed by her parents Gerard and Catherine, as well as her siblings Kathleen, Michael, and Noreen. Moreover, Trish is survived by her brother-in-laws Kevin, Owenie, Sabba, Connie, and Joe, sister-in-laws Mary, Annemaire, Patricia, and Geraldine as well as her nieces, Lauren, Christine, Laura, Ciara, Aoife, and Eimear and nephews Robert, Kevin, Tony, Michael, Sean and Daniel. Trish now journeys to the Kingdom of Heaven to be reunited with her beloved Granny Essie, Grandad Mick, Grandma Alice and Grandpa Ed.

The compassion Trish held in her heart was clear to all who met her. A selfless giver, Trish dedicated her life to caring for her three children as well as the hundreds of toddlers in her preschool classroom over the past 30 years. Some of her proudest work included her tenure as Old Mill Road PTA’s Treasurer and President. Additionally, Trish volunteered for over two decades as a Religion instructor at Sacred Heart Church, receiving honors from the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre for her dedication to the Catholic faith.

Please join us to celebrate the life of Trish Curran at O’Shea’s funeral home in Wantagh on Sunday, June 11th from 2-4 and 6-8. Trish's funeral services will be bestowed at Sacred Heart Church in Merrick the following day at 11:15am followed by her burial at St. Charles Cemetery.
